Library of Congress Classification

Page Library uses the Library of Congress (LC) classification system to organize books by specific subjects.  The LC system uses letters and numbers to do this.  Most materials on Wellness will be held in the subclasses BF-Psychology, GV-Recreation. Leisure, HQ-Family. Marriage. Women, R-Medicine.

To browse the library's holdings for materials on a specific accounting topic, one must search for the topic by using the library's online catalog.  Using the online catalog one will be able to find a more specific call number for the topic.

    The ASN seeks to provide Information and publications on nutrition, through publications, conferences and research.
  • Healthy People
    Healthy People provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. For 3 decades, Healthy People has established benchmarks and monitored progress over time in order to: Encourage collaborations across communities and sectors. Empower individuals toward making informed health decisions. Measure the impact of prevention activities. Healthy People provides free data, implementation plans and other resources.
  • Health Finder
    Health finder is a government website consisting of a wide range of health topics selected from 1,400 government and non-profit organizations to bring you the best, most reliable health information on the Internet.
  • Medline Plus: Exercise and Physical Fitness
    This site provided by Medline plus is a free resource which provides tutorials, videos, overviews, and dictionaries on physical fitness.
  • National Association for Sport and Physical Education
    the National Association for Sport and Physical Education is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to set the standards for best practices in physical education and sports. The organization offers standards, grants, accreditation, professional development and other resources for physical education.
  • President's Council on Fitness
    The President's Council on Fitness is a group of 25 civilians who advise the president through the Secretary of State on various topics related to physical fitness and education. Many resources including guidelines, statistics, research, and other resources are available.
  • USDA: Food and Nutrition
    The USDA's website for food and nutrition news, food labeling, packing and safety.
  • Nutrition.gov
    Nutrition.gov provides access to food and nutrition information from across various agencies in the federal government. It serves as a resource forreliable information on nutrition, healthy eating, physical activity, and food safety.
